  • China Grill, 404 Washington Avenue, (+1 305 534 2211) has a great atmosphere and infusion food.

Whilst there are several hotels reasonably close to the sales, most are uninteresting and it’s worth staying down on South Beach.

  • The eclectic Pelican Hotel, 826 Ocean Drive, (+1 305 673 3373) is owned by the Italian fashion company Diesel.
  • The Hotel, 801 Collins Avenue, (+1 305 531 2222) is the former “Tiffany” and offers a slightly quieter location, one block back from the beach but with a good rooftop view.
  • The Delano Hotel, 1685 Collins Avenue, (+1 305 672 2000) a South Beach institution, offers jaw dropping decor and design and has a great bar and restaurant.
  • Any other of the great art deco style South Beach hotels are very good.
  • The beach and people watching along Ocean Boulevard is a great attraction. Note there is no parking on South Beach – hotels generally use Valet services (it can take up to 20 mins for your car to arrive at the front door.)
  • The Delano Hotel is an absolute must see.
